But trying to categorize the work we do is nearly impossible. It is as broad
as saying "motorized vehicle". We can think of many vehicles that have motors. One
thing is for sure - all of them have motors and all of them have wheels. Thus, an

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is Usually the End Product
Regardless of what the purpose of the Website is when clients first engage us, almost
all of the solutions we build rapidly become Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
solutions. That is, the Website becomes more of a tool to assist us in managing
the overall business that, in turn, will keep our relationship with our customers
For example, a client may approach us about building them an ECommerce store for
their new business. This business will be entirely online based. Once completed,
and after a few months, they will start to request features that technically have
nothing to do with the direct action of customers buying products. They may ask
us to build a feature that allows orders to be sent directly to their suppliers
at the click of a button (resulting in faster order fulfillment) or they may ask
us to set up a feature to track leads (resulting in new customers and a stronger
One way or another, the Website eventually becomes the ground floor for overall
management of the business - not just Add to Cart >> Checkout.
As a result, we often find ourselves adding the same types of functionality to a
Member Registration System as we would to an ECommerce store. There is a lot of
crossing-over but, at the end of the day, it is all about customers.
